Nifty (Oct) futures, on a breach of 22,820, can rise to 23,000

Nifty 50 opened today at 22,671 versus Wednesday’s close of 22,623. It extended the gain after opening and is now hovering around 22,750, up about 0.6 per cent.

The advances/declines ratio of the index is now at 27/23, indicating a bullish bias. Tech Mahindra (up 3 per cent) is the top gainer, followed by TCS (up 2.4 per cent). On the other hand, Adani Enterprises (down 1.7 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (down 1.1 per cent) are the top losers.

Nifty IT (up 2.1 per cent) is the top performing sector so far today, whereas Nifty PSU (down 2.5 per cent) is the weakest.
