The African Union (AU) says that the death toll is 233,203 and that 9,153,863 patients have been cured of the disease so far.
South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and Ethiopia are some of the countries with the highest number of cases in Africa, the Africa CDC said.
South Africa has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Africa with 3,546,808 cases, followed by the North African country of Morocco with 1,025,898 cases from Friday afternoon, it said.
In the case of these cases, southern Africa is the most affected region, followed by the north and east of the continent, while between Africa and the region most affected, according to the Africa CDC.
